Abstract

Keyphrase extraction and generation are maturing NLP tasks that have grown in importance as the amount of digitally-born authored work grows.  How are systems doing today and how can they improve?  I examine how the key characteristics of topicality, indicativeness and informativeness can lead to a future agenda shaping the keyphrase extraction and generation research front.
