Creativity Computational and Otherwise -- The science and the fiction

Speaker:  Tarek R. Besold – Barcelona, Spain
Topic(s):  Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Natural language processing

Abstract

Computational Creativity -- treating with systems that exhibit behaviours that observers would deem creative -- has been garnering increasing attention over the last few years. In this talk we have a look at some of the most prominent systems in the field (ranging from a joke generator to an automated painter) and at the underlying theory, gaining an understanding of what is already possible and what (at least for the moment) still pertains to the realm of fiction.
