Abstract

In the medical field, patient’s information plays a crucial role for tele-diagnosis and tele-surgery. Security is the critical problem amid during the transmission of medical images, because it contains sensitive information of patients. The security of medical image is characterized as its integrity, confidentiality and authentication. These security vulnerabilities restricts the growth of mobile healthcare applications, which intend to improve the efficiency of medical image communication. The objective of communication security is to protect the patient’s information from unauthorized users. In recent era, telemedicine is important because it enables consultations by remote specialists, loss-free and immediately available individual patient information, and improved communication between partners in a health care system. Medical images are regarded as important and sensitive data in the medical informatics system. To transfer the medical images over an insecure network, developing a new secure encryption algorithm is necessary.
