Abstract
Artificially intelligent (AI) systems are becoming part of our everyday lives. This session will provide basic information about artificial intelligence, machine learning, and the ethical conflicts and implications inherent in these technologies. Carol will introduce the current abilities and limitations of AI systems, the challenges of data and data bias, and implementing ethics for AI systems. Carol will propose simple models for thinking about these systems and provide time for questions. You will walk away with an awareness of the AI systems and a working knowledge of AI systems.
This talk is for HCI practitioners and other technology workers who want to better understand AI systems.
