Abstract
The talk will introduce quantitative and qualitative methods used in HCI research. I shall discuss how these research approaches are used to understand people and interactional contexts. Practical activities will be outlined, which can be used to give attendees experience of applying quantitative and qualitative methods to existing HCI datasets. By the end of the talk, attendees will have gained an understanding of how to select and apply quantitative and qualitative research methods to address a range of problems that are of concern to contemporary HCI researchers.About this Lecture
