Abstract
not to exceed 4000 characters: In this talk I will discuss our experiences with the Design, Deployment and Evaluation of Technology probes. We have used this class of probe as a key approach in our deployment based research and in our experience have found them to provide an excellent means for obtaining early insights into issues of adoption and appropriation as well as providing user-led inspiration for additional functionality and new design directions. One of the Technology probe based deployments that I will discuss in this talk is that the Hermes digital door display system.About this Lecture
