Abstract

Join me for a look at IBM's vision for the near term future, or as IBM terms it, IBM's Global Technology Outlook (GTO).  IBM Research and its global community of some of the world’s top scientists consider the cultural and business applications in which technologies will be used – and the impact they will have on IBM and the world.  It’s IBM’s vision of the future for information technology, synthesizing insight from academia, partners and clients around the world.  The session will highlight emerging architecture, software, hardware, and services technology trends that are expected to significantly impact information technology (IT) in the next 3-7 years and how these trends will enable new uses and capabilities for IT.  In particular, the IBM Technology FOrecast identifies technologies that may be disruptive to an existing business, have the potential to create new opportunity while provide new business value to our customers.
