Reactive Programming
Speaker: Venkat Subramaniam – Broomfield, CO, United StatesTopic(s): Web, Mobile and Multimedia Technologies
Abstract
Why a new programming model? The computing platform and the demands on applications have significantly changed in the past few years. We can't be creating applications like we once did. Applications today have to be responsive, resilient, need to scale, and also communicate easily across disparate subsystems. This presentation will bring out the essence of reactive programming. We will start with a discussion of the main ideas and quickly dive into code and learn about dataflow, observables, what sets them apart form other abstractions we've seen and used in the past. By the end of this presentation you will be able to consider, evaluate, adapt, and make use of reactive libraries and/or design your own applications to be reactive where it makes sense.About this Lecture
