Bio:
Dr. Gaurav Somani is an Assistant Professor in the Department of CSE at Central University of Rajasthan, India. Earlier, he served as a lecturer at the LNMIIT, Jaipur, INDIA. He has completed his Ph.D. in CSE at MNIT, Jaipur; MTech from DAIICT, Gandhinagar, India; and BE from the University of Rajasthan, India. His research interests include Cloud computing, virtualization, distributed computing, and network and system security. He is an associate editor of IEEE Access Journal. He also served as lead guest editor of a special issue of Journal of Software: Practice and Experience. Dr. Somani is an ACM Distinguished Speaker. He has been a part of technical program committees of a number of international conferences and was a keynote and tutorial chair for ICISS 2016 and keynote co-chair at Asia Security & Privacy Conference 2019. He is also a regular reviewer of a number of IEEE/ACM Transactions and other journals of repute. His research work has been published at ACM Computing Surveys, IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing, Computer Communications, Computer Networks, Future Generation Computer Systems, IEEE International Conference on Cloud Computing, and IEEE Cloud Computing. He has co-edited a book on “Research Advances in Cloud Computing” (Springer) with Sanjay Chaudhary and Rajkumar Buyya and another book on “Versatile Cybersecurity” (Springer), with Mauro Conti and Radha Poovendran. He has received awards like Elsevier Computer Communications journal Best Survey Paper Award 2020, IEI Young Engineer Award 2019-20, Outstanding reviewer Award from Elsevier JISA 2018, Best Paper Award ICISP 2015, UGC TRF Award 2015, Excellence in branch counseling Award from IEEE 2011 among many others. He has delivered more than 40 invited talks/tutorials at various conference and workshops. He is an IEEE Senior Member and a professional member of ACM.
