Abstract
The aim of cyber security is to protect the systems, software and networks from malicious activities and attacks launched to gain illegitimate access, steal information or disrupting the services of an organization. Due to the rapid increase in the number of devices connected to the internet for various purposes such as to control, monitor, and to perform different tasks the implementation of efficient cyber security procedures has become a challenging task. And this requires a thorough analysis of the security posture of an organization therefore, security auditing and evaluation becomes inevitable. The talk shall highlight the Cyber security auditing and evaluation needs for an organization to identify their security deficiencies. Also, the Pakistan’s initiative of establishing National Cyber Security Auditing and Evaluation Lab (NCSAEL) at College of Signals (MCS), as part of National Center for Cyber Security (NCCS) shall be discussed with an emphasis of providing assistance to public and private organizations for the evaluation of their security measures.About this Lecture
