Performance analysis and optimization

Speaker:  Aditya Kumar – San Jose, CA, United States
Topic(s):  Software Engineering and Programming

Abstract

With the rise of complex systems that run on a large number of devices on server farms, performance analysis has become ever so important. Having a comprehensive knowledge of different abstraction layers of a system allows the engineer to make right performance optimization where it makes most sense. This lecture will cover different layers of system where performance opportunities are present. The audience will learn that often changes at the right level can dramatically improve performance without significant engineering cost. I will share many examples along with concepts to highlight real world performance opportunities. All the examples were taken from real performance optimization that I have done over the past years.
