Computational Intelligence for Bioinformatics

Speaker:  Ujjwal Maulik – Kolkata, India
Topic(s):  Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Natural language processing

Abstract

In the first part of the lecture we will discuss several Computational Intelligence Algorithm that is used for optimization, machine learning and data mining tasks. This include Genetic Algorithm, KNN Algorithm, KMean Clustering Algorithm.

In the second part initially we will discuss different problems in Bioinformatics which are important for building better and smart healthcare system. Subsequently we will discuss the application of Computational Intelligence techniques for solving certain problems in Bioinformatics. In this regard some result will be demonstrated for clustering of Micro Array Gene Expression Data, Rational Drug Design and MicronRNA-mRNA target prediction.
