Software Is a Team Sport

Speaker:  Titus Winters – Long Island City, NY, United States
Topic(s):  Software Engineering and Programming

Abstract

The primary factor behind the success of the best software teams is not programming language, seniority, or development environment. Instead, time and again the research shows that team culture is at the root of technical success. Unfortunately, for all of our technical training, many of us get little or no training it what makes a good teammate or how to foster a successful team culture. In this talk, we’ll try to discover why stereotypes of the “lone hacker” persist, just how important it is to get culture right, and what we can do to make an active investment in healthier teams.
