This distributed ledger records only those transactions that are verified and validated by the nodes in the network. Details of such transactions are recorded into blocks and all the blocks are cryptographically connected creating a massive Blockchain. Blocks are created through the consensus among the nodes in distributed network. The main advantage of the Blockchain technology is elimination of the need for trusted third parties as the copies of the chain are replicated among the different interested nodes in the network.
