Abstract
Mal-ware is one of the major security threats in computer which have been in existence from the very early days. There is a lack of understanding of such malware threats and what mechanisms can be used in implementing security prevention as well as to detect the threat. This presentation provides an overview of malware and binary obfuscations, mainly polymorphic and metamorphic techniques. The purpose of this presentation is to describe recent trends, malware-as-a-service, ransomware, and spear phishing emails. Dr Alazab also illustrated how AI and machine learning can be used to uncover hidden patterns in in malware, draw on real world data.About this Lecture
