Speaker: Heloisa Candello – Campinas, São Paulo, BrazilTopic(s): Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Natural language processing
Abstract
The human society is undergoing a significant transformation due to advances in artificial intelligence (AI). These technologies enhance operational processes and customer engagement, enabling institutions to manage inquiries and complaints through AI agents efficiently. Utilizing natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning helps reduce wait times and improve customer experiences while handling high volumes of inquiries. However, challenges related to human-AI interactions persist, including user acceptance, conversational breakdowns, and ethical considerations. Understanding these dynamics is essential for maintaining trust in AI systems. Ultimately, this talk aims to explore and question the feasibility and impact of integrating AI systems with varying levels of agency in human contexts. Addressing these multifaceted issues seeks to establish a foundation for efficient, adaptable, and applied AI solutions in many environments that used to include only humans. This talk aims to reflect on questions such as When agentic systems are needed?, and how to operationalize them in everyday interactions.About this Lecture
