Abstract
Computer science students often dream of being an entrepreneur and launching a high-tech startup but do not know what this entails and how to get underway. This talk covers the key elements of coming up with a high-tech business idea and carrying the envisioned startup forward into reality. The speaker is a seasoned computer scientist entrepreneur who has founded, led, and sold several high-tech companies, and served later as a top executive at a major venture capital firm. He has been a mentor to new startups, an investor, and a pitch judge at numerous startup pitch competitions. Practical insights will be provided, and time will be available for interaction with attendees.About this Lecture
